WD Customer Hard Drive Problems

Western Digital My Book Essential 2 TB, External, 7200 RPM
I own Western Digital My Book Essential 2 TB, which used to run very smoothly until suddenly it just stopped working. When I open my computer where My Book is connected, I hear the hard drive spin then followed by three clicking sounds then it stops. This repeats for three times until the hard drive just stops starting. I cannot see the hard drive on the computer so I cannot access it. The click I hear on the hard drive is similar to the click I used to hear when it shuts down before when it was still working perfectly.

Western Digital Elements 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive
I have a Western Digital Elements 1TB USB 2.0 external hard drive that stopped working properly. I don’t why this happened because it was working this morning. I am worried as music, movies, and all work files are saved in it and not on my computer’s main hard drive. I noticed the problem when I was on iTunes and almost all the songs that I used to have won’t play anymore. It doesn’t say that the files cannot be found, I can see them there but they won’t play at all. So I tried opening the files on a different player like VLC player but it returned “File reading failed”. On Windows media player, the files still didn’t play and the error “Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file” showed. I bought these songs from iTunes and they used to play before. Meanwhile, when I open my work file like Microsoft Word or Excel, a message just pops up saying “This file could not be found.” I use is a Dell Inspiron notebook running on Windows 7.
